Directions to the Princeton Friends School at 470 Quaker Rd, Princeton NJ:

FROM PRINCETON (heading South):

  1. Take Mercer St. (also called Princeton Pike, see Note 2 below) south out of Princeton about 1.5 miles until, just past the battlefield on the left, the intersection of Quaker Rd.  There is a noticeable S-curve in Princeton Pike right at this turn-off.
  2. Turn LEFT onto Quaker Rd (going east towards Rte 1) just as you enter the S-curve.
  3. The school driveway is immediately to your left after the turn onto Quaker Rd (see Note 3 below). 

FROM TRENTON AREA (heading North) get onto 295 in the vicinity of Route 1:

  1. The interstate highway which crosses Route 1 in Lawrenceville (just south of Princeton) circles around Trenton, and it changes names right at Route 1.  It is I-295 South going west from Route 1, or I-95 South going east from Route 1.  You want exit 8B, Princeton Pike North, off of 295.  This is one exit west from Route 1 in Lawrenceville (after which the road becomes 95 and exits get renumbered--see NOTE 4 below).  
  2. Take Princeton Pike north from 295, exit 8B.
  3. Go 3 miles north on Princeton Pike until you enter a sharp S-curve marked with arrows along the side.
  4. Go through the S-curve and over the bridge in the curve, then turn RIGHT onto Quaker Road (going east towards Rte 1) just as the S-curve is ending.

  5. The school driveway is immediately to your left after the turn onto Quaker Rd (see Note 3 below). 

NOTE 1: We do not recommend taking Route 206 to Princeton Friends School, because the connecting road (Quaker Rd) is one-way towards 206, blocking access over to Princeton Pike at that point.  If you must approach from Route 206, you'll have to go into Princeton and then proceed south on Princeton Pike, or else from southwards, use Province Line Rd to get over to Princeton Pike.

NOTE 2: Getting onto Princeton Pike (called Mercer Street in Princeton) from within Princeton Borough is tricky.  Heading south (towards Lawrenceville) on Nassau St, you have to turn left AFTER the light at University but BEFORE the light at 206 (near the dance).  These two lights are only a few yards apart, and the left turn onto Mercer St/Princeton Pike is between them.   From 206 at the Nassau St light, you get only Nassau St and take the first right (BEFORE the redlight at University) a mere dozen yards from the light at 206.  It takes a little patience and attention.

Note 3: When turning off Princeton Pike onto Quaker Rd, you start to take Quaker Road south towards Route 1, but instead, you make an immediate U-turn through a divider.  You  stay on Quaker Road only about one yard! The school driveway is right there at the intersection.

NOTE 4: I-95 crosses Route 1 twice, once in Lawrenceville (per above directions) and again further South near Neshaminy, PA.  From Neshaminy, you can take I-95 N to I-295, exit 8B, but that is longer than proceeding north on Rte 1, then taking I-295 S one exit westwards to Princeton Pike N,  exit 8B).
